**Português** **_Um tributo aos pescadores e ao poder da natureza._** Este filme, baseado em factos reais, conta a história de um navio de pesca de peixe-espada que fica preso no meio de uma tempestade, e é uma abordagem cinematográfica aos perigos que os pescadores do Grande Bancos enfrentam na vida real. Dirigido por Wolfgang Petersen, tem roteiro de William D. Wittliff, com base no livro de Sebastian Junger. O elenco é liderado por George Clooney (no papel de Billy Tyne, mestre do navio de pesca) e Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (no papel de Linda Greenlaw, mestre de outro navio), mas também tem outros actores muito talentosos como Bob Gunton, William Fichtner, John C. Reilly, Mark Wahlberg e Diane Lane. Desde o início dos tempos que marinheiros e pescadores estão sujeitos aos perigos do mar e das tempestades. Este filme fala sobre isso através de um caso específico que levou à perda de várias vidas quando uma tempestade, de proporções raras, explodiu nas águas de Gloucester, EUA. O roteiro está bem escrito e a história é tocante. Os cenários e a fotografia são irrepreensíveis e os efeitos visuais e sonoros são excelentes, especialmente aquando da tempestade (de facto, mereceram uma nomeação ao Óscar para Melhor Som e Melhores Efeitos Visuais). George Clooney adaptou-se maravilhosamente ao seu papel, dando-lhe uma personalidade enorme, uma alma de marinheiro que ama o mar mesmo com todos os seus perigos. Todo o elenco, no entanto, esteve num nível impecável e conseguiu capturar a simpatia do público, que sofre com eles e vai com eles para o mar, ansioso para voltar a Terra e afastar-se daquelas águas cruéis e difíceis. Embora este filme tenha passado despercebido quando saiu e ainda seja pouco falado, é um excelente filme de desastres (muito melhor do que outros mais famosos e que nos mostram desastres que nunca aconteceram) que aborda factos e realidades que custam a vida a centenas de pescadores e marinheiros todos os anos. Então, além de um óptimo filme, é uma linda homenagem a esses homens e às suas famílias. **English** **_A tribute to fishermen and the power of nature._** This film, based on true events, tells the story of a swordfish fishing vessel who's caught in the middle of a colossal storm. It's a cinematic approach to the dangers of Grand Banks fishermen's face in real life. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen, has screenplay by William D. Wittliff, based on the book by Sebastian Junger. The cast is headed by George Clooney (in the role of Billy Tyne, master of the fishing vessel) and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio (in the role of Linda Greenlaw, captain of another ship), but also has other very talented actors like Bob Gunton, William Fichtner, John C. Reilly, Mark Wahlberg and Diane Lane. Since the beginning of time that the sailors and fishermen were subject to the dangers of sea and storms. This film talks about it, and a particular case that led to the loss of several lives when a storm of rare proportions explodes on the waters off of Gloucester, US. The script is well written and the story is touching. The sets and photography are blameless and the visual and sound effects are excellent, especially portraying the storm (indeed deserved the Oscar nomination precisely for Best Sound and Best Visual Effects). George Clooney was wonderfully in his role, giving him a huge personality, an old sailor soul who loves the sea, even with all the dangers of it. The cast, however, was all at a great level and manages to capture the sympathy of the audience, who suffers with them and go with them to the sea, eager to return to earth and get away from that cruel and rough waters. Although this movie has passed quietly and still be a film that is not much remembered, its an excellent disaster film (much better than others, showing disasters that never happen) that deals with facts that cost the lives of hundreds of fishermen and sailors every year. So, apart from a great movie, it's a beautiful tribute to these men and their families.
